Power steering fluid and Airbox sensor?

Hi 2 questions:

Can i use Dexron 3 trans fluid to fill up my powersteering`?

And i´m going to get a open airfilter, today i noticed a sensor on the lid to the airbox?!
what is it for? and what do i do with it when im getting an open air filter?

No do not use Dexron III in you steering system... Use Power Steering fluid only...

The sensor in the air box is the Intake Air Temperature sensor... There are certain filters that have an IAT hole for that sensor... Others do not...

On my 91 at the moment I have the IAT sensor in the Air intake pipe... On the 87-91 Bonnies the SES light will come on if the sensor is unplugged...

Good Luck
