Thanks, Mike, and sorry about that. I've gotten one other response and I have two guys waiting. If your car'* not a daily driver, you can ship the upper to me and I'll turn it around in one day and get it back to you. Your down time priority mail would be about 8 days.

Best,

Bob.

Bob, is there a way you could go to a dealership and ask if they have a few they are gonna toss? You know dealers don't refabricate old ones, so perhaps they might have some? Of course they may send them back to the factory, but I doubt it.

I have a friend who works at a GM repairshop, and he says the 3800 II'* come in all the time for that repair.

I don't know how soon I will see him again, but I could ask him if he could grab me a couple. Thing is, I may see him tomorrow or not for a few weeks. If I see at least his wife tomorrow at the shop I work in, I will have her tell her husband to contact me,

I will try to help, but cannot promise anything. If I get a couple or even one, I will send it your way Bob.

It might be best not to tell them the intended purpose. Tell them it'* just for design work so ONE particular owner can use it as a model to pre-fabricate a metal upper intake.

I passed the dealership locally yesterday, turned around and went into the service area. I spoke with the service manager about getting the damaged "plenums" per his preferred term. He claimed that they really don't get any of those repairs there.

I told him that I had mine done there just two years ago and that I belong to BC, where we've found that they all fail eventually. He maintained that, while they do get a lot of intake gasket replacements (LIM), maybe the plenum failures are more up North where they have greater temperature fluctuations.

I almost laughed in his face at that one, but didn't bother to correct his statement...not worth it.

Anyway, I gave him my BC card with my phone number on it and he said that he would call if they ever had one. I'll hold my breath............................................ .................................................. .................................................. .............................................OK, maybe I won't.
