Another T-stat Question - Drilled 195*???
Would drilling a 195* thermostat have any benefit the same as a drilled 180* would? I dont want to put one in that will have me sittin in an icebox in the winter. I have a drilled 180* from ZZP that I havent installed due to this same reason. So the choices are a drilled 195* or a non-drilled 180*??? Which one???

I have a drilled (one 1/16th hole) 180* thermostat in my car without having any temperature issues, even in sub-zero weather. The main reason for drilling is to help alleviate problems with air pockets.
The are proponents for each side. My preference would be for the slightly drilled 180.

I'm just wondering because I have a drilled 180* from ZZP with two holes in it and I was thinking that the two holes may be overkill for up here. Maybe not so much now with spring/summer coming up though. I also have a 195* from AutoZone that I could drill if that would be the better option.

Your autozone stat won't flow as much as a ZZP or INTENSE Tstat when open.
These thermostats flow about 10% more than the STANT'* and almost all others on the market.
The opening is bigger.

Now this isn't the thermo I installed, but the top part is similar. Would this be considered a "Slightly Drilled" thermostat? I like the design because it does help with getting rid of the air pocket(*) after you change the coolant.

Here'* the two t-stats that I have. The one on the left is the 195* and the other the drilled 180* from ZZP. Ol' Timer, you can see the holes that are drilled in the flange of the t-stat on the right.
