Many of our cars here (including supercharged) can hang around 30 mpg on the freeway with the cruise set on a long trip.
Mixed driving can't be compared due to different driving conditions and styles.
Best you can do is a full tune-up and live with what you get.
Plugs
Wires
O2
PCV
Fuel filter
air filter
Lube/Oil/Filter
And flow-matched fuel injectors could help as well.
Trans slippage as it ages also affects you. Consider having the filter replaced and getting it flushed.

The only way to tell what you're true mileage is...Fill it.. drive 200 miles.. refill...divide miles by gallons.
Once you do that come back and let us know... we can suggest better from there.

You must crunch numbers. If you don't.. you don't actually know how you are doing.

yup im not a Bonneville and mine is even worse, when im sitting on empty and the light is on telling me i need gas, the absolute most i have ever put in is a tad over 13 gallons, and i have a 17 gallon tank. and the light had been on for a long time when i did that. so use that trip meter and see how much you put in..you might be surprised by the results.

As to gas mileage, my car has consistently gotten 20 MPG from the day it rolled from the factory, and it doesn't much matter what kind of driving-freeway at 80, around town, never varies much.
I did make a 200-mile drive recently and made it a point to use the cruise control, which I normally don't, and it got almost 22.
I was amazed. I've thought about changing the 02 sensor, as many here recommend, especially at 124K, but since the mileage has never varied....why?

I used to get about 22 around town
I just sold my '95 SSEi, but I'd get around 21 to 22 around town in daily driving. A straight highway trip would probably yield 25 to 27 mpg.
