Default Just making sure I am not forgeting anything.

This will be the first long distance trip I will be taking in my bonneville since I bought it and want it in the best posible shape before I set off. I will be making a trip from Northwest Arkansas to the Phoenix, AZ area and back. Around 3000 miles for trip alone not to mention we will be doing a lot of site seeing. I would say probably 4000 to 4500 miles total.

Here is what I have done in the past couple of months month.

Flushed and replace coolant and changed to 180 degree thermostat.
Replaced spark plugs. NGK Iridium IX
Replaced all four tires. Today
Cleaned K&N air filter.
Changed Oil but will change again before leaving.
Greased Front end.
Replaced Brake Pads.
Replaced Fuel Filter.

If I am missing anything please let me know.

I will probably try and change the front O2 sensor before I leave.

Sounds good to me. The other things I would check or change is the brake fluid in the reservoir. The bug juice in the Windsheild Washer Reservoir. Check the tire pressure before you go and make sure you have 60psi in the compact spare. Flashlight(that works). Maybe getting some flares? I always thought of getting them to store in my car. Ya neva' know? Cellphone, sun glasses, and "tunes" for the cd player. Enjoy the ride!

Checking the spare. That would be good. I don't think I have checked it since I bought the car. I just got some light sticks but a flashlight would be good. As for the cell phone it never leaves my side. Oh I think I forgot to mention my wife and kids are going. My sons are 3 and 6. Everybody wish me luck.

I guess everyone has their way of coping with kids on a long trip. I know before my daughter was old enough to read I would connect her up to her own "Walkman" so she could sing along to her tunes. Most of the time she just slept though, so long trips with her were always easy. Hope your kids are "Happy Campers" and are secure in their car or booster seats.

I new I was forgetting something in my list.
I have also changed the PVC Valve and Replaced belt with a Goodyear Gatorback.

As for the transmission filter and fluid I have records from the previous owner that it was changed about 38,000 miles ago do I need to change it. When I check to see if it full it looks almost brand new.

IMO, I would change it with this mileage. It'* really not to difficult to do yourself. The instructions in the Tech Section worked for me(Thank you very much Bonneville Club). The ONLY thing I ever wondered is what does the Xmission Oil Filter FILTER???!!! I mean, all the "crud" is located on the magnet on the oil pan.
BTW, when you "Change" the Xmission Oil, you gotta remember that the approx 7 quarts that you drain is not ALL that is in the system. So it'* really not a complete change. BUT, the new oil you put back in will rejuvinate the oil that'* already in the system(plus cleaning the pan magnet is always a good thing).
