Default Rattly?

I've been on a rattle fix mission recently, mostly exhaust and interior trim. My engine kinda rattles. Can only hear it from inside when next to something with the window down. With the hood popped, I can't really narrow it down. When I had the timing cover off recently, the timing chain didn't have much loose slack, although the tensioner was taking up quite a bit.

You think that could be the main culprit of the rattle? Anything else to look for?

look at your idler pulley(*) if they are shaking you probly have a loose pulley(not neccesarlly the idler pulley).

The only pulley that has any play in it is the PS pump. In and out, not rotational. My wife'* 93 SE'* PS pulley does the same, has more mileage, and is noticebly quieter. Now that I think about it, that could narrow it down to lifters, since 93-on had rollers.

Somehow, I knew you'd say that.
