Default please help!!!

i have a 96 bonneville today i came out and it would start then shut off every time i tryed.... the fuel gauge is not reading but i just filled up today so i cant be out off gas i got over in the passenger seat and like kicked the dash under the glove box and then it fired right up... what is under there to make it start and not start? and can anyone help me do i have a bad fuel pump or is it just a fuse or somthing stupid? thank you

Strange fix, I'm not familiar with your year but it could be a relay or somehting, someone else would know better

Well a swift kick is standard repair procedure for repairing anything. Seriously nothing gives you faster results.

Since it seemed to do something in that area I'd agree that it'* probably a fuse or relay, possibly a wire.

The relays are under the hood. There is a fuse box behind the glove box. Take a look there. I would also check all your battery cables on both sides. clean them up good.

Default fuel relay issue

thank you all for your help i figured out the problem... it is the fuse box under the dash the fuel relay is really loose and for some reason the fuel relay keeps like vibrating out i tryed to buy a new box but its a dicontinued part im going to try a junk yard this weekend... thank you all agen for your help.

yes but i have a bunch of relays thats not the problem its the actual box the relays plug into the relays will not fit snug they keep falling out and causeing the car to not start or shut off and not start while im driving,.. it cant be the batery cause i just bought it to days ago i thought the same thing and i also bought not batery posts cause my old ones were striped so i got a good conection...

Try taking some duct tape and just tape it in. That will get you by until you really fix it.

It'* about 8 bolts/screws to pull the dash. Then you have great access to the fuse/relay center on the passengerside A pillar.



You could pop the pins out one at a time and tighten them. That would be the correct way to get a better connection.

Poor connections cause heat, heat causes fire. Fire + Bonneville = Bad day.
