Default Riv trans in B-ville?

I'm weighing my options here and I came across a 1995 Riviera 4T60E HDTrans, but I'm wondering if it will work.
The RPO code is a FR2 (2.93) and I have F79 (2.97).

What problems would I see if I used the FR2 trans? I'm assuming a little more TCC slippage.
I would be installing a shift kit, extra trans cooler, along with equipping the trans with magnets on the pan. I would also be installing a adjustable vacuum modulator.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated -I want to have a transmission in my possesion today or tomorrow so the trans shop can install it next week while I'm in Wisconsin for work, or if I don't have a trans lined up I want them to be able to go ahead with the new diff, diff cover, shift kit, and inspection of my current trans.

Thanks in Advance,
Martin -stranded again. :(

I wasn't aware the 4T60E(HD) had a 2.93 option. That'* a 4T65E(HD) ratio. Something'* wrong here.

Got this info from the service department manager at the local Buick/Chevrolet/Pontiac dealer.
He took the VIN'* and ran them and he came up with these two transmission codes. Apparantely that'* why the g-body and H/C trannies won't interchange, but the H and C trannies do interchange in 1995.

Has me confused too.

I just talked to the transmission shop and it sounds like he might give me a fully rebuilt trans at his cost since I'm a return customer who has reffered over 5 other people to him who have had him rebuild their transmissions.
Got my fingers crossed -will be finding out in the morning.

Marty, get the shift kit and try to get a beefed up differential, too.

Those were two of the things I told him I'd want for sure. I've got a budget for the tranny (not as much $$$ as I should invest), but I'm going to do my best not to skimp where I shouldn't.
I am going to talk to gmtuners and see if they can do a e-prom for different gearing, as I would like a slightly more aggressive gearing (3.05 or so).
I'm going to see if I can get a half decent trans put together for under $1300 at his cost, but I'll find out in the morning when we go over my options.
