cotter pin problem....help
I am trying to change my rear inner tie rod as i speak. I want to remove the tie rod and the tie rod end as one unit. But i can't get the cotter pin out on the tie rod end. The rounded end of the pin is in between the grooves on the castle nut so i can even get needle nose pliers on it . I need help one figuring how to get the pin out. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Or a nail. Or a small pin. Anything will do. You should replace the pins, anyway, so destroy them if necessary. Just save one or the pieces to size the replacement.

well I tried the densist tool and snapped it in half... the worst part is the position the pin, it is pointing like directly at where the shock and drum kind meet so it really sux.

I just twist off the castle nut and it will break the cotter pin. When you have the tie rod end off you can then use anything (I use a drill with a small bit to get them out). I don't waste my time with the cotter pins unless they come out really easy.
