Leaking Gas...Not sure which one is the problem

Leaking Gas...Not sure which one is the problem
I have a 90 SSE
and i noticed yesterday when i fill up the tank it leaks gas like a champ
before if i put half of a tank no leaks.
Now i am not sure whether it is the top part of the tank leaking, or what i have been told lately which is that it might be the fuel sender.
Any one else expereince this problem??

Not on my Bonnie, but I did have that problem on my Blazer. The sending unit and gasket were the problem. I was on my way up to Mississauga (sp?) for a weekend and I stopped to get gas (Canadian gas is expensive, BTW). As I filled the gas (using the locking devise on the nosel) I walked around to wash the windshield, check oil, etc. When I went back around to the pump, gas was everywhere, the nosel didn't shut off, and I owed $40 US!
It was an expensive repair, too.
There are other things that may be wrong. For example, rusted tank (holes), ruptured line, etc.

Well its coming from the top side of the tank
so i am not sure
the sending unit seems to be working good
no struggle to start
but i guess i may have to drop the tank

That happened to my Cavalier... it was the return line ( i think ) since there'* 3 lines... 1. fuel line.. fuel return line.. and pressure line. If it'* leaking on the top.. more than likely it'* one of the connector pipe line on the top.. which means you'll have to drop the tank down.. and depending on where the leak is.. it might be an easy fix.. but the bitch part is again dropping the tank out and re-installing it.

On my Blazer the sending unit was on the top of my tank. The tank R/R is alteast a two man job. It is best done on an empty tank (for obvious reasons).

I am gonna put it up on the hoist to work on it
she has stopped leaking
and she is at half tank
so i am really lost now
i think maybe the tank only leaking
