Default EGR Valve

Ever since I took of and cleaned my EGR valve my car has been idling real rough. It'* really shaking a whole lot and the engine sounds like it wants to go off. It actually sounds like it'* skipping.
Not sure if this helps but I kind of hear a squeaking or chirping while i'm driving. (no birds were following me)

Alley.. Hi there.. You know about the New England meeting coming up I hope?

EGR.. You pulled this off and cleaned it right? You may want to pull it again and check each pintle to make sure they are free moving.

Usually a squeaky chirpy sounds is PCV, however I don't think 92 had PCV'*

A 92 does have a PCV. I've replaced them on all 92 versions, with/without EGR and supercharged.

I'd attribute the rough idle to a bad seal at the EGR, suggest a R&R to check for carbon deposits.

Remove and Replace.

Meaning pull it off, check and reinstall w/fresh gasket.

If you disassembled the EGR valve for cleaning, I understand that it is possible to put the solenoids back on the base wrong (yeah, this might be experience talking). If so, it will bind the pintles and cause one or both not to operate. The good news is, if you did this like some dumb hillbilly (me), it will only fit on the base 2 ways. One very good way to tell is to operate each solenoid with a 9v battery, you'll hear a very positive "click" on each solenoid when activated.

Well I had the EGR valve on the correct way. I think the genius at advance auto parts sold me the wrong gasket. I ordered a Felpro one from autozone and my baby is running like a dream again. Thanks for ya help fellas
