Default Car dumping fuel.

I've been working on my 1992 Bonneville in the driveway for about a month now.
Doing mods and fixing things. I've driven it about 4 or 5 miles through the neighborhood with great results. Until today.

I started it today and it was very hard to start. Like it was flooded. When it did finally start it skipped and surged terribly bad. It also had huge amounts of unburnt fuel coming from the exhaust. It was like every fuel injector on the car was stuck open.

I disconnnected the battery. Removed and reinstalled the new PCM. ( grasping for straws here )
I hooked it all back up and it runs great. What could have caused this ?

Thats possible. I have had a LOT of the dash out lately as well as the console.
It was just really strange. Maybe the pcm got scrambled or something ? Is that possible?
I dunno ....

It is always a good idea to disconnect the battery when doing extensive electrical work. Your trouble sounds more like a vacum leak than pcm coruption, lets hope the problem is solved and never comes back?

I'm not sure how a vaccum leak could cause my symptoms but hey,
anything is possible. It'* strange that it fixed itself.
It was dumping fuel out of the pipes so bad I had black clouds of smoke
( just ask the neighbors ) billowing across the lawn.
Anyway, I'm going to try it again today and see what happens.

Your FPR is vacuum-controlled.

I've had a vacuum leak, hell I still have it. My FPR is too vacuum controlled, and I run lean like that, how do I know this? I don't have a raspy sound.. and the exhaust sounds dry. IMO i'm running rich anyways loL
