O2 sensor removal

95 SE

I did a search and learned that it can be removed easily. Haven't noticed that yet. I have one of those box end wrenches with the openning for wires, 7/8". I get it on fine but the bugger is tight and no leverage. I guess I'll try the remove while warm theroy.

I'm wondering if anyone found it easier to remove from the bottom? Also wondering what the shop would charge me to change it out while changing the fuel filter?

Sucks though. With the money I paid for this car, the planned maintenance I'm doing to get it to run solid, and the cradle bolts dropping out repair.....I could have bought the 97 Grand Prix GT I passed on because of price. Whoa ease me!!! :?

Funny you should ask that question...
I went in to get my fuel filter changed this week because my line was really rusted and I didn't want to mess with fuel and a broken line. I got the fuel filter/line changed and the he said he could put my $66.00 Denso o2 sensor in for $30.00. Both things done for just under $200.00. Well worth it for me and my ability

BUT, if you want to do the o2 sensor yourself....soak it real well with PB Blaster the night before, maybe warm it up.. Many people here have done that.

My time is worth more than all the hassle

Thanks South East Wisconsin. I lived in Racine for a year and Oshkosh for 7 before moving back up here outside Eau Claire.

The 97 Grand Prix could have had any number of issues also....Never should on yourself..You can easily get frustrated with any vehicle.
