Default Fan Relay

My low speed fans doesn't come on. Which Relay is it though. Better question.... How do I hard wire the fans to run full time? I either want them to run full time or have a switch to run the fans that shuts off when the engine does.

Next point to ponder... Has anyone considered adjusting the resistance on the relay to make the fans turn on at a lower temp? If you have the answered to any of these questions, please speak up quick. The fate of my bonneville depends on YOU.

The relays don't controll when the fans turn on. The relay just puts the high current voltage to the fan when told to (via a low current control voltage). I'm not sure on the bonne'* where the control comes from; It could come from the pcm or just a sensor on the block. Relays are easy to diagnose and replace if you would like more info.

How do I diagnose the relay? I had to replace one on an old oldsmobile one time when my fans weren't turning on but I just assumed that was the problem and it worked. The way I understand it is there is a high speed and low speed for the fans that are run by the relay. Let me know.
Thanks.

The PCM commands the relays to turn on, so YES, the relays DO determine when the fans come on.

To add, I just recently found out the hard way that both the high and low speed fan relays need to be working or it won't start either fan...

Not sure if its the same on the 92, but the two right most relays on your maxifuse center are the fan relays on the 95.

Default relay

We need someone with a 92 FSM to look it up for you so you know for sure where the relays are.

Click the link in my reply directly above yours. There'* a PICTURE in that topic clearly identifying them.

I linked the topic rather than the pic, as I felt it would help him to understand what'* going on with the circuit.
