Struts.
Ok, i asked about this somewhat about a week ago, reguarding the CCR option. Now that i know i can't get replacement struts that will keep the CCR option what would be good ones to look at getting. I've notice that the compressor is running a lot more now. I put a bag of clothes i had from a weekend visit to my girlfriends in the trunk and the compressor went on. I parked here at work and got out and it went on... I'm thinking that something is leaking somewhere.
So whats good to get? and will they even have to use the compressor (for ELC) or will that just be for the trunk inflator thing now?

Monroe Sensa-Tracs are available with the ELC support.
When I finally do all of mine,I'm going with them,since the Reflex aren't available anymore

Testing for leaks at this point is really a moot point considering the age and miles on his struts (assuming they're OEM). Unless the leak is somewhere other than the strut air chamber of course.
REMEMBER! ELC struts are STANDARD GAS-CHARGED struts with ADDED air chambers for the purpose of load levelling. They DO add some performance stability.
ELC struts are NOT air struts. They're air-assisted GAS struts. In other words, your struts can be shot and worn to bits in the GAS sense, yet have no ELC leaks. Or the other way around.
These are often overlooked facts.

Thanks for the Strut lesson Willwren! That really clears some things up for me. They are still origral struts with 111,000 miles on them too! so i'm sure suprised that they are on the way out.
also, There is a place that my mom takes her Bonneville that will do the struts for a really good price and they'll check for leaks too. they did my moms leak check for free! I know i could handel putting them in myself but now its a matter of time more then difficulty. what should i expect to pay for struts, parts no labor?

Well I just put out $430 for front Sensa-Tracs struts and the doughnut gasket where the manifolds meet the downpipe. They ride great, and I love them. Now I just gotta come up with about the same for the rears. Maybe someday after I add the Accel injectors, the MSD coilpacks, front wheel bearings, headders, and A JOB! LOL Well anyway the Monroe'* are very nice.

Struts and install should run about $250, but you'll need an alignment afterwards. Or you can find your best price on the 'net, do the struts (rears are easy), and then only pay labor for the alignment. You may need to adjust the ELC ride height afterwards. I did, and that procedure is now in Techinfo.
