Default No Stat at Part Store

I had my dad call the part store to get me a 180 stat, but they didn't have them, because they said it wasn't good for the car, and there is a warning when buying them. What a bunch of ****. I know more than half the owners here have the 180 on them. Where did everyone get theirs from?

Grandprixstore.com

Its a hypertech stat made for the Series II, but it works perfectly on my Series I.

Does this hypertech stat work better than a normal brand stat?

Thermostat opens at 180. Doesn't matter who makes it. They're all the same. Hypertech may say theirs is better, cuz it has their name, but I can tell you they don't make it. Buy one locally. Any GOOD auto parts store can cross the numbers for you and give you one that fits. Don't forget the rubber seal and the gasket!

Autozone around here is jerky I don't recommend them unless you know EXACTLY what part number you need.

Farm & Fleet baby, thats the way to go!

FYI
The numbers I posted are:
Robert Shaw GT751-180 thermostat
Fel Pro 35486 and 35595 gasket and o-ring
Get them whever you want or use these numbers to cross to what they sell.
