Default UIM manifold question...alluminum?

hey everybody, i'm the guy who doesn't have a bonneville, i do however have most of a bonneville in a van body so it kind of counts. my '95 L27 UIM is a black plastic, like most of the ones i've seen on the bonnies and other motors i've seen around. however the other day i was junkyard crawling and came across a '93-'94 Transport with an L27 and an alluminum upper intake manifold. it was identical to mine except it was metal and didn't have an EGR tube going into it.

does anyone know anything about these? were they factory? di they flow better, worse, the same, do they seal better. just real curious about them thats all.

i really considered, and if anybody is interested, grabbing it and polishing it up, since i can do that. you know, make it look like chrome.

i know that, but even the EGRless L27'* i've found have all had the composite manifolds, i just had never seen an alluminum one and thats what i was confused about.

the 92 L27 were aluminum intakes and no egr valve. I don't know if there is a benefit or not.

you will not find a Composite Intake that lacks the EGR...the only ones that were EGL-Less were the Alum, intakes
