I'm in the process of redoing my intake manifold gaskets. My lower gaskets are completed, now I just need to get the upper manifold removed so that I can put those in.

I'm having trouble taking an item out. There is the silver fuel line that hosts the schraeder valve which loops around the upper intake plenum. Attached to that line there are 6 (part i'm trying to identify) going from the line to the lower intake. These must be removed so that I can separate them. There are 3 on each side of the upper intake and each has a 2 pin electrical connection on them. If someone could tell me

A) what these parts are
B) how to disconnect them

Those are fuel injectors. They are secured to the fuel rail outlets with a clip. Once you have disconnected the fuel rails from the fuel lines that connect to it, and remove the nuts (2 front, 2 rear) that hold the fuel rail down, the entire fuel rail complete with the 6 injectors should lift up as one piece. Remove the 6 electrical connectors before you lift the assembly.

Excellent.. I'll give this a try once I get some more daylight. It appeared as though the fuel injectors may have threaded in to the lower intake manifold which is what kept me from trying this. Thanks again

No, they do not thread in. The fuel rail is bolted down, and the injectors are trapped between the fuel rail and the intake manifold. Be aware there is an O ring at the top and bottom of each injector. If the O rings aren't on the injectors when you remove them, they are still in the intake manifold or the fuel rail. It is important to get them out or the injectors won't seat properly when reinstalled.
