Car cuts off...Turn the wheel and car starts up
On the phone with ssesc93. He was pulling into his driveway and his car cut off--wonldn't start but turned over fine. He got out to push the car into his driveway, got back in to turn the wheel and decided to try it again. Still no luck. Turned the wheel all the way to the left and then tried again and it started but sounded "sick", then it quite again. Straightened the wheel and tried yet again, but nothing happened. Finally, he turned the wheel one last time and it started up. He knows he has a code 17, and has a crank position sensor for that repair but has not installed it due to lack of knowhow and time (any volunteers on that?). Would this have any bearing on the starting problem/wheel turning solution?

I can't say for sure, but it sounds like that has nothing to do with it.....just MHO.
From reading the service manual a crank sensor isn't bad, but it not just a unplug old/plug in new type thing. Be sure to have someone knowledgeable around or else it won't start at all with the new one
