My car is throwing this code, I recently cleaned my MAF sensor after the light came on, is it just on it'* way out?

When this DTC sets, the PCM is detecting a frequency signal lower than the possible range of a normally operating MAF sensor. The MAF sensor may very well be at fault. Also, any unmetered air entering the engine may cause this DTC to set. Inspect for vacum leaks anywhere downstream of the MAF. I don't have the FSM schematics for '99 engine controls. A check of the 5 volt reference ckt. might be in order also. Maybe a 96-99 GH will chime in.

OK, so what'* the easiest way to check for vacum leaks?
Also I've tried clearing the code after I cleaned the MAF, It goes away for a while but comes back, sometimes after an hour of driving or sometimes not untill the next start up.

Spray a small amount of carb cleaner on each fitting while at idle. If the idle changes, that'* a leak.
Don't forget the connections at the EGR. That can be a big one for vac leaks. Also both ends of the Brake Booster vac line. And all the little ones. Inspect the filaments on your MAF sensor.

Thanks I'll try that as soon she gets home.
As far as inspecting the filaments, I checked them out when I was cleaning the. They looked intact except one of them looked to have a curve in it (don't know how else to describe it but one when straight across while the other one seemed to bend) NOT from me cleaning them though, I was very carefull and noticed it before I went at it with the Qtip.
