Default (UPDATE...FIXED!) bouncing driver'* side mirror

hey guys my 97s sabres driver'* side mirror is bouncing around. If I move it with the buttons its stays there but it shakes and i mean it shakes but the odd thing is that when i grab it, it does not "feel" lose even at idle it just shake away and it makes it hard to use that side because anything in it is just shakeing around plz help how do you remove it? like the glass

when you look at it.. is the surround moving, or the glass?

It may not be loose being you tried to move it with your hand, it might just be there is a certain vibration that is causing the mirror to shake or bounce

it never used to do it before tho. So some thing at one point broke or came lose but i have to find a damn way to fix it its driveing me CRAZY!

that'* funny because I have the EXACT same problem, driver'* side and everything. . .

anyone know how the mirror goes together inside / what could have come loose??

ok, here is what it looks like behind the mirrors



the mirror is held on by 3 points.
point 1 is the center pivot (large round part).
the other 2 points are the small round parts to the top and left (these are the parts the move the mirror) these are just pushed into by the mirror post and pulled off.(they make a ratcheting sound when you pull/push them on)
the center pivot is very hard to engage/unengage. (it snap on and off)

mind you, these pics are upside down (sorry)

grab the botton of you mirror and pull out and push in, does it make a ratcheting sound
grab the outside(left part of the drivers mirror) and pull out and push in, does it make a ratcheting sound
grap the top-right of your mirror, is is loose

maybe one of the 3 tabs that holds the mirror actuator assembly is busted also.

My 89, 92 and 01 do the same thing. Nothing broken, they just shake a little and it makes me nutz too.
