Default New Front Struts for 1995 Bonneville

Hi all, my bonneville front struts are finally coming to the end of their life, the car is equipped with FW1 suspension which has the Performance and Touring ride buttons on the centre console. They have the characteristic wire leads going into the top of the strut. Here is the question. What can I replace them with. I have just found out from Rock Auto and Ac Delco that those original replacements are not available and that the computer command ride label on the struts I just got shipped is a misnomer. I have a set of the AC Delco original load leveling struts for the back of the car that I managed to secure new last year. I would like to keep adjustability, as I love the stiff ride in the car, but kidney busting. What is a nice sporty strut. I have heard mention of KYB GR2 as being decent. Any one else have any ideas or input on the matter of struts?

Thanks
Chris

The only way to keep the adjustable ride is to get the OE AcDelcos.

KYBs are good, but near stock. A little more firm than Monroe and Gabriel.

Im not sure if KYB offers the AGX strut for the Bonne, if they did, those would be your best bet. They are adjustable, but not compatible with the factory ride control. You would have to manually adjust them.

There really is not a whole lot of selection for the bonneville, monroe sensa trac, KYB GR2 and several different AC Delcos, none of which are a direct replacement. ( At least for what I have found out from AC Delco.) None of the struts are electronic and no one makes an electronic strut for the car..... I am not entirely impressed with the idea that I might be losing the touring / performance ride switchability. Not sure what I am going to do at this point.

I think I saw something on E-bay a couple weeks ago. They were advertised as being direct replacement for the SSEi ( with the electronic feature to adjust from firm to soft) They were priced at $500.00 each. That is a little rich for my blood so I moved on.
I have a 98 SSEi that will soon need struts as well. I would really like to find some direct replacements for the origionals.
