This is regarding a 1995 SSEI.

What'* the easiest way to change both belts on it.

And when I bought the car, I was told that the previous owner used to pay his mechanic something like $20 to flip a door so he gets heat.
Right now, I only get vent and it doesn't heat up.

Anyone have any ideas?

Ok, on the belts each has a tensioner pulley and it is pretty easy using a 15mm ratchet or wrench to relieve tension and take the belts off. Belt routing is in the owners manual.

On heat, sounds like an actuator or rod connecting an actuator to door is broken/missing. Randman is the resident expert on those doors. He'* taken apart like 3 cars. I'll ask him to respond.

Belt routing is also on your radiator support. 15mm wrench or a long breaker bar with a 15mm socket, as stated. It helps to have an extra set of hands.

Your airmix actuator is in the same shape as mine. I'll get to it when I get to it, in the meantime you can go in through your glovebox (remove it) and you'll see it buried down there. Who'* got that pic?

Randy has the picture..and on my 95 the routing wasn't on the support. I expected it there..maybe someone peeled it. I had to use my manual.

Here'* the pics. You can see the air mix door arm through the left hole in the black steel dash structure with the inner glove box piece removed. The door can be moved by using a long screwdriver or similar tool between the steel part and plastic duct.

The manual calls for dash removal to replace the actuator. This is what I did to replace mine. Since then, there have been a couple of members here and on AF that have replaced them from under the dash by removing the heater core cover. It is possible and less time consuming than removing the dash but is more difficult because of the placement of the actuator and electrical connectors.

I take it the 95'* are different from 98'* with the belt swap. I had to remove part of the passenger side motor mount to swap them out.

Yes, Series I (92-95) are different than Series II (96-99)

I think John (Overclock This) forgot to mention he has a 12 second GTP also so he knows his way around most things on the engines

As for the heating/cooling issue...fairly common. Awesome pictures above, you can also search on the subject (air mix door?) and come up with a few posts.

When I put my A/C on RECIRCULATE I still get outside air, would this issue your refering to fix this also? Thanks

Recirculate should be a different door. Randman will chime in soon with which door it is.
