wtf ?
does anyone know what the actual dates are for this one ?
so i can check mine ?
does anyone know more about this problem
or if anyone here has ever had the lines separate
or had the recall fix done on their 92 ?

go to a dealer with your vin#, they will check if it has been serviced. I had my 92 done last year under this recall. They said "bring it in and we will take care of it". Didn't cost me a cent.

Looking this up I read it is for 92-93 C and H body cars and the 92-95 U Vans. No help for my lines that I just found are leaking a little a few days ago :(

I had an engine bay fire a few years ago because of this, and nearly lost my car. Quick action saved it, and the repairs cost me less than $60 for both lines.
The factory crimp seal on the OEM lines is the problem.
Fire was in August of 2002. Posted in Sept of 2002:

(our 510th topic if that tells you how old it was)
The recall has expired. Repair will be at your expense if the VIN search proves the work was never done under the campaign.

expired hah well that figures
oh well
i was prepared to fix it myself anyways if it was expired or hadnt bene repaired yet, in which for the latter ill have to go out to the dealer service counter and have them check
in which ive done on so many other vehicles in the past for various other things
anyone know which crimp exactly where is the culprit ?
more than one ?
you lost a vehicle due to this
damn :(
really was no joke for sure then, this problem, wow :(((
a vehicle fire can definitely be insane
my aunt was in an old 70s ford pickup once when the thing burst into flames under the dash or rear of the engine compartment, completely burned up the truck i have pics somewhere,
car fires happen out here on I-55 often as well
car fires are so much more common than you realize,
see so many burned up vehicles in the towing yard in the north end of town here
and ive been through many near fires/fuel or oil leaks as well haha
its crazy.. hmm..
thanks

oh ok well thats good then
well forgive me then for i am not psychic,
for all i know you could have replaced it with another one/have a different car even of the same year make model
youre lucky to not have lost the vehicle due to this, a petroleum based fire is as you surely are aware of not one of the simplest fires to put out and requires quick smothering/oxygen removal, most fires of this type cause major damage/loss in almost all instances
and FYI im not reading your PM you sent to me entitled 'long posts'
so wat if i sometimes post longer than typical length posts
who the hell cares ?
such will not hurt anyone or the forums
extra content can only be good for a forum,
per search engine results and so on so that more ppl can accidently(or purposely) find the forums and hopefully join and henceforth make the site larger over time,
If you cant or wont agree with any of this then i seriously doubt you care how sites and the internet and etc., work.
You should be glad if and when members can and do post content additionally to the site.
The last thing i want to see/read after another long *** day of working on junk *** vehicles with new crazy problems is some power-happy panties-in-a-wad admin complaining about piddly *** stupid crap(as you presumably are in your PM)
You're not the only admin on this site who has complained about some stupid thing or another to me in PM'*.
You admins on this site sure seem like the most unfriendly whiniest power mad individuals i have ever encountered on any message forum and believe me i am a member of hundreds literally no exaggeration
If you admins here are going ot continue to whine and act high and mighty towards your own members and apparently not give a rat'* *** if you get post content added to the forum and be glad to see new members such as myself come here and help other enthusiasts as best as they possibly can with their problems and also learn some new things from said enthusiasts then maybe i have come to the WRONG site
I SERIOUSLY DISLIKE COMPLAINERS AND PPL IN A POSITION OF POWER WHO ACT AS IF THEIR HEAD IS AS HUGE AS A MARSHMALLOW IN A MICROWAVE
If this is how you and this site is and is how it is being run then tell me now so i can get away
and recommend to the billions of automotive enthusiast oriented individuals that i know out there to not come this this site
you should be glad to have a new member come to your site and contribute as best as he can and not spam or do anything to harm the site in any fashion within reason or without intention
if not then you are the first
you are really making me wonder here...
stop the bitching at me, get a life, and find better things to complain about, or i am gone
ok ?
you= admins on this site,
and the admins i am in RE of know who they are
i came here because i owna nd have owned many vehicles of these platforms that this site exists for and because i am very mechanically inclined and am a mechanic every day of my life and have been for ove ra decade now and vehicles is the only thing i know in this life and love ot help out those in need with their own vehicles if and when i can possibly help at all
if this is not the type of individuals you want on here then let me know now so i can quit wasting my finger energy
thank you

Can you try to condense your posts into sentences and less vertical space on the page to prevent scrolling to read it? In addition, we try to keep the posts in the mechanical sections strictly on-topic. If you can make an effort to keep your replies specifically related to your Bonneville and it'* issues, we'd appreciate it.

Sucks when you have to show your own on the way out the door.
