Need to program a remote for '95 Bonneville
 

Anyone has instructions? I know that it is able to be done without having to take it to a dealer

I looked all over, So far this is all I found. It's for a 95 Pontiac trans sport.

Important
All transmitters which are to be recognized by the remote control door lock transmitter (RCDLR) must be programmed in a single programming sequence. If the system is placed in program mode it will erase all previously programmed transmitters upon the receipt of the programming signal from the first transmitter. Up to four transmitters can be programmed. Do not operate or program the transmitters in the vicinity of other vehicles that are in the keyless entry program mode. This prevents the programming of the transmitters to the incorrect vehicle.


Remove the ignition key from the ignition lock cylinder.
Remove the BCM PRGRM fuse from the fuse block. Refer to Electrical Center Identification Views in Wiring Systems.
Close all of the doors.
Insert the ignition key into the ignition lock cylinder.
Turn the ignition to ACC. The body control module (BCM) will perform the following in order to identify the type of BCM installed in the vehicle:
Flash the seat belt indicator 2, 3, or 4 times.
Chime 2, 3, or 4 times.
Turn the ignition to OFF, and then back to ACC within 1 second. The BCM may begin to chime and flash diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). If the BCM has stored any DTCs, refer to Diagnostic System Check - Body Control System in Body Control System.
Open and then close any vehicle door. The BCM will chime in order to confirm that the programming mode has been entered.
Press and hold the transmitter LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously for approximately 14 seconds.

Important
After approximately 3-5 seconds the BCM will chime once to confirm that the programming has been completed for that transmitter.


Repeat the previous step in order to program each additional transmitter.
Remove the ignition key from the ignition lock cylinder.
Install the BCM PRGRM fuse into the fuse block.
Operate the functions of each transmitter in order to verify correct system operation.

This is what I used when I added a remote to my wifes 95 SSE

To reprogram your keyless entry system for a new key fob:
1) Turn ignition to OFF.
2) Ground pin 1 of the Data Link Connector (black 16-pin connector under dash driver's side). Pin 4 of this connector is a ground, so placing a jumper wire between pins 1 & 4 will accomplish this. Grounding pin 1 tells the system you are getting ready to reprogram it.
3) Close all the doors.
4) Turn the key to ACC, then back to OFF. The power locks will lock/unlock. The system is now ready to be programmed.
5) Press a button on your key fob.
6) If you have two key fobs, press a button on the second fob within 1 minute of pressing a button on the first one. Both must be programmed at the same time. If you only have one remote, press a button on it 2 more times to signal that you only have one.
7) The doors will lock/unlock to signal that the codes were received.
8 ) Remove the connection between pins 1 & 4.

I found that the power locks locked and unlocked immediately upon jumping pin 1 to pin 4. The system was ready to be programmed. steps 3 & 4 were unnecessary.

I lost the remote on my 96. How can I delete/disable the code so it can not be used again? I don't want anyone to find it and be able to enter my car or trunk. Please help.

That's more similar to what I remember for my '95 SE. Except, I didn't know about the multiple fobs until this minute.

I can remember doing fob A. Great it actually worked. Then i did fob B and that worked. Double great... But then fob A didn't work. So i redid fob A and then fob B didn't work.

Fortunately, my wife stepped in to stop me from further stupidity, and a road to insanity which would have lasted 9 yrs 'till tonight.

Steps 3 and 4 might be necessary in an SE, which doesn't have the key On/Off, lock/unlock as part of its normal programming.

After what happened to me... I'd say it is possible that you could buy a new fob off of ebay (wherever) and when you program it, it will exclude the prior programmed fob.
