yes, you have a leak, yes, your year the elc is hot at all times. time to get out the listening pipe or soapy water to find the leak. could be at the compressor, lines, struts.

As well, leaky ELC is a great way to kill your battery if you're storing/parking your car for any extended period of time. I dealt with that before new air struts last summer. :(

actually Travis....i also have the ELC and my compressor will come on at times for a few seconds to just keep the level happy when there is a large load in the trunk....i KNOW for a fact that my ELC system is leakless....as i have tested everything before installing

The system works off the switch. If the switch gets low enough to active the compressor or minimum pressure is compromised.. the compressor comes on.

I wouldn't worry about a couple second pump up with this kind of a load in the trunk. The seals of the compressor and other connections would be stressed and more apt to leak slightly.

The amount of leakdown is most likely so minute that you will not be able to easily find it.
