Need help--BIG TIME!

I took off my throttle body for cleaning and a new TPS.

When I went to start it after the install, I got a Code #22 -- low volt fault. My TPS is a Borg-Warner unit, and is adjustable at the mounting points. I set it at where the original was, but obviously the position wasn't going to work with this one.

I pulled it down after going to tech and finding the procedure for "throttle position sensor optimization". I followed the procedure.

Now the car starts up and idles roughly at 3000 RPM plus!!!!!

What the Sam Hill is wrong???? Idle reads .68 volts at the sensor, as per instructions.

Let it learn. It varies by car, but the PCM should re-learn the idle.

you need to drive the car.. when my idle is high like that, after driving the car for less than 5 minutes, it will relearn the idle, and it will be back down to 1k rpm.

When I put my new TPS in I idle'd at about 2700-3400rpm.... just drove it for a day and it went to normal...dont worry

GOLDEN!

Idles at 1000-900 or so. I turned the idle back a bit so I coud drive it, and it re-learned. My cold start trouble has vanished, tons of power, and I am sure the mileage is the best it's been since I got it.

Tomorrow it will get a new TPS plug (mine shattered -- $22 from GM! Wires are all white, not even color-coded!) and a heater blower motor control module. Freebie. Compliments of Agees Inc, a local salvage yard. Donor is a green SSEi with the front sheared off from the firewall foreward -- makes it real easy to get the box out! Mine pooped out two days ago -- no current output.
