Default Factory Shop Manuals

Does anyone out there have the Pontiac Service Manuals (2 books) for the 1993 Bonneville?

If anyone does, does it show how to service/repair/replace the electric antenna mast?

I hate to buy them and there is no info in there about how to do it.

Thanks

If memory serves me correctly, the antenna is now free and pulls down, then out.

easiest to replace the while antenna than just the mast. If you can't find one for under $40, let me know and I can get you one tested working and shipped (in US) to you for under $40.

Pictures bill has are exactly what is needed.

Wow. When I tried to fix mine, I completely snapped it off.
I've got my antenna mast held up 24/7 by plumber'* putty and have all the holes puttied up and check them every other week to make sure.

I'll have to get a new one and follow these pictures later this summer for sure.

I found a part number for just a replacement mast with the nylon cord on it. 88891023 through GMPartsDirect but I sent them an e-mail to see if that part number will install inside the original factory motor unit. They also make a whole motor & mast unit 88891021 and that 1023 part number may be the mast replacement for that motor & mast unit and not for the original motor unit. When I called the local Pontiac dealer last week they said they didn't have a replacement mast for the factory motor unit, only a replacement mast for the newer motor unit. So I will wait and see what GMPartsDirect says.

JimmyFloyd...I may get back in touch with you on that offer.

Got this back from GMPartsDirect:

Hi,
Part number 88891023 is not a replacement mast for the original power
antenna mast. It is the replacement mast for part number 88891021.
General Motors does not offer a replacement mast for the original
equipment power antenna.

Guess that answers that question........:(

Would I be safe in assuming that the original factory electric antenna also fit Oldsmobiles, Buicks, Chevys and Cadillacs?

I have noted that Caddy'* from the same years look similar. Actual checking I found that if you search the junkyard, you can find the same antenna with the same everything except the bracket which bolts onto the antenna if memory serves correctly.

Managed to get an aftermarket unit installed last night and it works but the plastic ferrules they give you didn't have one with a great enough angle to it so when the antenna goes up it'* kinda crooked, but I do have tunes.
