hey all i have a 94 bonneville sse 3.8 with an intermittent dying problem. Let me start by saying this has been a problem for quite some time. The car will die at random times.sometimes right after startup and other times it will make it all day without having a problem, usually it will start right back up but eventually will die again. I have had the codes pulled and changed the crank and cam sensors, the ICM, EGR, coil packs, fuel filter,plugs + wires all to no avail. although I thought I had it fixed for a while,but as it turns out I was wrong, It ran fine all winter but since it has warmed back up its back to its old ways. Ive spent too much money and time on this car already and am pretty sure the pcm is the culprit but i'm not willing to take the risk and replace it too just to find out I was wrong again.We'll enough ranting. I want to run a wire with a toggle switch on it to the fuel pump to eliminate the power supply coming from the pcm (which seems to be the problem) . So I was wondering if some one could kindly give me the proper voltages to run to the pump and which wires are my + and - on the plug to the fuel pump? thanks in advance for your time and effort.

Check your fuel lines going into your rail my outside fuel line was loose and needed to be replaced my car would die from loss of fuel there at the line. it would lose pressure and gas would drip out and car would die but then start right back up. Good luck

Your symptoms really point to this.

Thanx trix and mike for the help but those are a couple of the things I found on this site last year but my bus was clean and my fuel lines seem fine. Seems I should mention I ran some power off my battery charger into the fuel pump plug and the car ran fine but the pump sounded different wasnt sure if i had the proper voltage or something else was going on so I figured one of you folks could help me in that department. thanks

One more thing what about fuel pump relay under pass side of car inside behind the kick panel under the dash?

Can you connect the exernal supply again? Let'* compare the way it sounds when it'* on the charger vs when it'* stock connected.

Relay is good as well.

It was a lower pitch with the charger hooked to it.

Hmm, ok. Can you get a fuel pressure test gauge and check your FP?

So it turns out my external power supply was a bust cause it lasted for about 20 min and sputtered out on me today. Mike I don't have a fuel pressure tester but tomorrow I can go into town and borrow one from auto zone. Although it seems much to random in nature to be a fuel pressure problem, its something i have not checked out yet. Thx
