Anywhere up to... um... 1995 or so, I think. Basically you're okay up to the year when the red lenses transitioned from that flat, horizontal division with the amber/clear lenses below them, to the new design where the red lenses sort of curve down around the turn signals on the inboard side.

Scout out a few Bonneville taillight lenses on eBay and I think you'll see what I mean.

all taillights are the same from 1992-1995. You also can stripe the lights yourself and make them darker and at the same time give the apperance of the SSE/I tails. Other members will to tell you to tint them

Striping them is cooler

Striping is not cool! I had the idea, but didn't do it for a few reasons. Some colors look good with SSE, some look better with tint.

While the two of them above fight it out, I'll just point out that you can stripe anything you like, but for God'* sake if you're going to do that, take the time to do it right. Obviously hand-striped parts, with wandering stripes and random-sized gaps between each stripe, just look silly.

In fact you might consider that the cost of your own time taken to do all that striping by hand, and do it well, would be more than if you just scouted out a few junkyards or eBay auctions and snagged a set of genuine SSE/SSEi taillamps in the first place.
