Default Fuel Gauge problem

I just swapped my engine trans and computer on my 97 Bonneville. They all came out of a 97 Grand Prix. The problem I see is that the fuel level sensor does not go to the computer on Grand Prixs like they do on Bonnevilles. Anyone have any ideas on how to get the fuel gauge working?

Thanks!!

I don't recall the fuel sender signal going to the pcm and not to the cluster. The 97 pcm shouldn't be monitoring the fuel level.

Are you sure about that and it'* not a fuse or something easy?

The fuel level pwm control goes to the pcm to port 5, and goes out of the pcm at port 74 to the gauge as a fuel tank level sensor. When I removed the sender from port 5 the gauge went from empty to full, and then when I wired it to port 74, it went back to empty. The car is on two jack stands which might have pushed the fuel to the back of the tank. I have to drop the tank to change the pump, so I will check the sender soon.

Changed the fuel pump, checked the sender, it works.

I put the old ecu in and the gauge works!! Went to local dealership to reprogram the ecu from Grand Prix to Bonneville, and they wouldn't touch it. They will only program the ecu with the existing Vin number (vin K), which will not help me. I asked them if they would do a case learn if I purchased a new ecu, they said NO.

Any help would be appreciated!! I have a check engine code of 1810, and I don't have a transmission indicator light.
