Two of my rims are out of round, and I found a pretty good deal on eBay for a set of rims off a 2002 Bonnie. Now I know that both 1995 and 2002 have 16'x7", 5x115mm, but what'* the offset? The set on eBay claims 51mm offset. Will these rims be usable on my car or will my tie rods blow apart within a thousand miles? My current set are the 16x7" gold lace.

On another note, do I really have to purchase new rims or are there techniques to fix alloy rims that are significantly out of round?

They may be a little different, but I've had 02'* on my 92 for a year and a half, no problems, 'cept a little rubbing when turned at lock, but the tires are 245'*, they've worn a little and don't rub anymore.

I'm thinking 92-99 used 49mm offset... does that sound right to anyone else?

Yes 2002 will fit and be okay on a 95 Bonnie. I have 2003 factory wheels on a 1995 with a difference of 5mm offset and there is absolutly no problem

Just so that you know the 95'* are 47mm and the 2003'* are 51mm. If there is clearence for the brake caliper then there is no problem.

You can do a search online, but there are a few places that will repair rims for $125 a piece. Now whether that'* worth it or not is up to you. It would be nice if you had $400 a piece rims...

Thanks, WildMan...I was wondering if there was such a way to repair a bent rim, but at that cost, it'd be cheaper for me to find a junkyard (and hope that those rims aren't bent). The deal I found was pretty good though, four 2002 SSEi 16x7 rims for $330 shipped to your door. It'* gone now though, somebody beat me to the chase. :(

It was actually these style. Wow, while looking for that link again, I found another set of four rims of the exact same style that actually went for $176 ($250 shipped) from a 2001 Bonnie. Dang, I miss all the good auctions.

Anyone know about wheel rim offset? Are 1998 compatible with 2002?

Check the offset or look for the ET number on the back off the rim. The ET number is the offset. Or it will be in the wheel size(every manufacturer is different), then it will read 16x7x51. I believe that 1998 was the same as 2002, that is 51mm.
