question about the fuel pressure regulator
i took off the fuel rail on my 95 bonneville se and i notice that the fuel pressure regulator is attached to it, what i mean is that if you wanted to replace the fuel pressure regulator would you have to buy a whole new fuel rail with the pressure regulator on it? i looked at mine and there is no bolt holding the regulator to take it off the fuel rail, so then the whole fuel pressure regulator is attached to the fuel rail with no way of removing it?

My 96 has a snap ring. You'll need a snap ring plyer to release it.
Takes about two min. and is easy to do.
Just swapped mine yesterday with another I had.
vin K GM stock 217-397.
Note: It would be helpful to put your year make and model in your signature.

Has anyone found a good price for the FP regulator? I was replacing the vacuum line to the regulator on my 94 SE and found traces of gas in the hose. The two places I checked (RockAuto and Autozone) get $92 for the regulator. I am used to regulators costing $30 or so and I'm at a loss as to why a part so common is so expensive for this car???

I really like my adjustable fuel pressure regulator with gauge.
You can adjust it to factory settings or a little higher to make up for a little extra boost pressure and you always know what it is by reading the gauge.
You can also compensate over time as the spring weakens.

Got it from the Grand Prix Store PFYC for $159. + $30 (US) for the gauge kit.

The gauge kit extra gets you a few feet of braided line with a gauge. The gauge is crap. You are really paying for the braided line and connector. Scrap the gauge and use a good stainless steel 0-100 psi unit.
