I have a 92 SSE and it runs great and seems to shift ok once already in motion. But when I put it into gear and go to take off almost every time (unless I start by just rolling) it will jerk a little bit. Don't know much about mechanics but it almost seems like it would be a motor mount. Any ideas?

it could be a mount.

Have someone help you. Put them in the car with the hood up and put the car in reverse and then drive.. give it a little throttle in each with their other foot FIRMLY planted on the brake.

Meanwhile you stand to the side of the car (watch for tires) and observe the engine moving. A lifting would indicate the side with a bad motor mount.
