Default crankshaft positioning sensor???

I would like to know how to replace my sensor in my 1995 SE. I think that'* what'* wrong because when I take it out for a cruise and shut it off for more than 10 minutes, it cranks over but won't actually start. It seems that if I let it cool off, then it starts just fine. I've already replaced the ignition module but it didn't fix it. Please tell me of anything that you know that deals with this. Thank you so much

Valerie It requires some special GM tools to remove the balancer. the bolt in the end is also extremely tight. There is also a GM alignment tool for the Sensor. I wouldn't tackle it yourself. A good shop should do it for 1.5 hours labor. I bet that'* what it is, we have to change them on LeSabres at Buick all the time.

The bolt should be at 111lbs/ft but whoever the moron was who replaced my T-Chain before I bought this car, overtightened it & loctited it too!
IF you can get the bolt loose, which is another chore as the engine itself wants to turn over, then you can use a 6" 3 prong puller if you're carefull. Some Series I balancers just come off with your hands too. The Series II'* definitely need a puller to get them off, I learned this the hard way. As for the Crank Sensor some need adjusting, but most don't. If you mark where your old one was positioned, just place the new one in the EXACT same spot!
