Lousy fuel mileage on my 93 sse non sc

Hey ya'll. My question is .. gas mileage. I get around 20-22 mpg in my bonny. I have always ran 93 octane in it. Will running higher octane give me less mpg? I have approx. 144k on the car. Plugs, wires have been changed. Will the O2 sensor make a difference? Or is the mpg about right for this model?.. Thanks..

I'm curious to see what others get. I'm new to the Bonneville world. My '96 SSEI will get 20 mpg max, and that's with a pretty light foot (OK, as light as can be with a supercharger on tap). I assumed this was normal mileage.

A new O2 sensor will probably help you out. I assume the 20-22 mpg is combined city/hwy? You should be able to get close to 27-28 mpg highway with your car. The 20-22 doesn't sound too bad to me especially if you're running A/C all the time and it is a combinedestimate.

Combined City hwy should fall into the 22-27 area... If everything is functioning as it should be, on the highway at a deadset 75 or so you should pull down 28-32 depending on the model... All 93 SSE NA's are rated 18 city and 28 hwy... Most will do 2-3 better on the highway than the sticker rating

My '93 N/A SSE used to get 27-29

about a month ago i ran it almost as empty as i could get it and filled it up hit the trip button and went to empty again....i did this two times, first time i got something like 380 miles, second time i did it i got 409 miles before i fille dit back up

so now im getting between 22 and 25 mpg so i'd say its normal...oh and i have 162K on her

I think you're in the ballpark for daily driving - that's about what we get on our 93 SSE around town...a little better than 20. If it dips below that I'll dump a can of injector cleaner into the tank and that usually brings it back up.

I noticed in your sig that you can only get about 107 mph out of your car. Does anyone know if these things have a governor of some sort in them, mine maxed out at about the same speed?

Before anyone calls the cops, I live within 1.5 hours of the BONNEVILLE salt flats. :D

yeah when i replaced my O2 sensore my around town miles went up by 1 or 2, and my Highway miles by 1.... so it does help..

I get around 21 MPG and that is just around my town only.

When I drove to WVU from Philly last year, I got around 30 MPG.
