Loud Knocking noise....
 

I need help....When I start her up there is a loud knocking noise and when I hit the gas it get's louder and faster.....Shops keep saying it's my crankshaft.....but DAMN!!! That's a hell of a fix!!

mmm...knocking at idle? Thats a hell of a rod knock if thats the case but that usually shows up around 2500rpm. its a bottom end problem though. sorry

Mine turned out to be harmonic balancer.

reeheeheeaallly hehe, you lucked out for sure. I'm kind of going on the assumption that his mechanic has it narrowed down decently.

Mine turned out to be a connecting rod bearing - hence the rebuild.

yeap it could be the crankshaft thats why i am tearing her down soon
