Default 4t60e and 4t65e differences?

What are the main differences between the two transmissions (non HD)? Are the eletrical different? Are the two of them interchangable?

I have heard that they are not interchangeable. The 65 was used for series 2 motors if I remember correctly.

the '65 is 97+ for both N/A and */C. 96 for the */C. They are not electrically compatable. You would need to get the PCM from the donar car if you were to use a 60 in a 65'd car, or a 65 in a 60'd car. They would physically bolt up though.. since the subframe is the same for all SI and SII cars, but not the SIII.

Why are you asking, anyways? Transmission swap? You pretty much HAVE to get the tranny from your year and trim level [well, N/A if you are N/A and */C if you are */C.. SE or SSE doesn't matter really]

Please elaborate. What year and trim level is your car and which drivetrain are you aiming to put into the car.
