By the sounds of it that would seem to be the cheapest fix....huh. If I have a change I'm going to try to burp the cooling system as Bill Buttermore suggests. In the mean time I think I'll use the over ride switch since the summer is coming to an end. If all else fails maybe I'll pick up a tranny cooler at NEBF 08 assuming there is one and I'm invited.

My 2 options are:

1. Keep the engine temperature below 195 degrees
2. Install a secondary tranny cooler to keep the tranny fluid below acceptable levels.

Performing another trans service may help as well. ;)

You don't need an invite to attend the next NEBF. ;)

doing a 180* state will help also. If you keep the stock Trans cooler.

Do you think another tranny service would keep the tranny fluid from heating up to much since I believe that's why the OD is not kicking in.

As for not needing an invite, one think I've learned in life is to never assume your invited to a function unless you've been asked. By the time NEBF 08 comes around, I may have overstayed my welcome. You've got to be getting to know me by now Boosty.

Hi there Bandito, I have a new 180 drilled stat installed already. Thanks for the suggestion.

There is tremendous value in replacing the external OEM cooler and bypassing the line through the radiator.

If the core in the Radiator is restricted, it's reducing line pressure in your trans.
