Lift Points

Ok, so i want to put my car up on the lift here at work. I need to find 4 good solid lift points under the body. I haven't looked under there yet but has anyone done this and can tell me where to start looking? its a lift that has two arms on each side and they swing under the car. you position the pads when you want then to hit the car at and up you go... thanks everyone!

Yes..look for the solid underbody frame rail and use them. These exist on almost all car w/o a full frame.

It depends a little on what you are planning on doing while it's on the lift, but generally the best place to support for that type of lift is the subframe members at front. Look under there and see where the suspension members all converge. You'll see the solid-looking section there on either side. For the rear there's similar solid points on the subframe. Take a good look you'll see them.

cool. sounds good. i'm half wanting to get it up in the air so i can check out the under real good and half doing it so i can do an oil change real easy.

Not a bad idea to periodically see how things look under there, unless you don't want to work on it, lol. There's almost always SOMETHING that could use a little work. Let us know what you find, if anything. ;)

Well letting you know what i find is no problem. but the pictures i doubt... the lift belongs to the company i work at and its in the shop... we do R&D work for automotive companys and a lot of testing in Pre release vehicles so everything in the shop is off limits to cameras...

ask if the shop manager or something can take a picture of the bottom side of the bonneville and that's it.
