Coolant leak on my '92 SSEi
She'* got 155K miles.
I'm suspecting the water pump but am not hearing any noises from it.
The leak seems to be coming from the water pump (or near by). I haven't dug into the motor yet as it'* still hot as of this posting!
Could this by related to the intake manifold problem I've been reading about all over this site? The motor has an EGR, but the leak seems to be coming from the other end of the motor.
I apologize, but I appear to be VIN number illiterate... My VIN starts with: 1G2HY... Does this tell me anything?
P.*. I've had to replace the (inside) SC belt 3 times in the last year. The SC belt is wearing out gradually on the side AWAY from the engine block (ie: to the side closest to the outside ALT belt) until the belt starts to come apart, strand by strand. The two belts don't appear to be rubbing together... Is this related some how?
Thanks in advance, Ace

You don't have an upper intake manifold. You have a Supercharger instead, so you're immune to the intake failure.
Check the bypass hose above the water pump, that might be it, or check the weep holes at the bottom of the 'fat' part of the water pump. You have to narrow it down. Preferably soon after driving a short distance.

Makes sense... Thanks for the SC knowledge.
Kind of tough to see where the leak is coming from without tearing into it... can't see it with the naked eye. I'll take your advise and check for those things once I rip into it.

Odds are that if it'* coming from ABOVE the WP, it'* the coolant bypass 1" line or fitting in the lower intake, If it'* not coming from above, it'* PROBABLY water pump related.

Oh....the belt. Check the idler/tensioner like Gordy said, and also check to make sure the water pump pulley isn't worn down more on one side than the other, or slop in the bearings. Check for in and out travel on the SC input shaft, and make sure your harmonic balancer isn't wobbling.

Had the same problem with my car about a month ago. The water pump went and I couldnt tell where it was coming from. I removed the belt and the play in the pump was noticable. I swapped the pump for one I picked up for 22 bucks at NaPa. Poped it on and wala.No more leaks. If you need instructions go here.

I am not sure what the setup is like on your year/model but last year my water pump was leaking, just barely and I didn't notice it. It was seeping past the seal and dripping out the weep hole on the bottom so it was not noticable. That weep hole is right over the srepentine belt and I can tell you that the belts do not take kindly to coolant, at least not DEX-COOL. The belt started to delaminate and it was a brand new belt. I mention this because you said your belt was showing signs of stress. The telltale sign on my car was a stripe across the hood insulation that was thrown across it by the spinning belt slinging coolant.
