L36 throttle body removal pictures?
I am looking for an article that has pictures showing the removal of a L36 (3800 II) throttle body.
The pictures I am thinking of showed removing the L36 TB and cleaning the black crud off. I was given this article for a L67 that is good but it does not have the nasty L36 brace removal. http://www.mccgp.com/upgrades/thrott...ottle_body.php |
You may need a ratchet wrench or even removal of the cross over pipe... There are a few that have done this with some good info... I have done this myself but my pics and infor are limited :oops: ;)

I am looking for the pictures for someone else. I removed my TB and cleaned it an over a year ago and remember how some ones article with pictures made things easier. There are so many good pictorials posted here that I naturally assume I saw it here. |
Ron I'm not sure if this will help at all..
In this pic the TB is removed, Notice that the support is swung out of the way... I removed the bolt from the TB and them just got enough on the bracket bolt to be able to swing it out of the way... thats about what my tb looked like. do you need to keep that tb bracket on? cuz i stripped head off so its just finger tight.

Mine's been running without that bolt and bracket for about 18 months now .No problem yet. :D

Excellent pictures those should help.
That nasty little bracket bolt was so tight on my car that I almost rounded the head off using an 8mm 6-point box wrench. A 5/16 x 6-point box end fits those just right but I did not have one at the time. Thanks again jr's3800 |
My assumpton is the brace is just that, a brace to assist the composite upper intake to support the weight during transition and bumps where strain and stress might occur. Poor design to say the least on putting the brace part of it on the outside where you could put a wrench if the bracing part was to the inside of the motor.
