Default Grinding sound at stops. What could it be? - Updated Again

The title pretty much explains my problem
Sometimes when i stop at lights i can hear (feel) kind of grinding sound. 90% of time, I let go the breaks and press them again quickly and sound disappears. The sound is only noticeable when the car is at complete stop.

Another thing that I have noticed today is that the sound is only happens when steering wheel is at the certain spot. (Near straight steering wheel position). If i rotate steering wheel a little bit left or right sound disappears.

Do you think it could be bushings or something. Another noise i noticed is kinda knock when i turn steering to the left when car is standing....

This is my first car and i own it for 23 days now!!! Thanks to this forum i have learned about cars more in this 23 days then in my entire life....

P.*. Special thanks to Buickman... He helped me to breath second life into this car...
It now drives totally different... O2 sensor, spark plugs, wires, filter. MAF sensor cleaned .Now testing fuel economy

???

Sounds like you need to pull the wheels & have a look at the brakes.

I agree. Look at the pads on both sides of the rotor.

I guess my explanation was not accurate.. the noise happens when the car is standing, not during the stopping

Can you tell where the noise is originating? Traction control and abs working properly? I suppose it could be the EBCM (electonic brake control module), but that would be just a guess on my part. If you can reproduce it in your driveway, and have someone listen for where the noise is, that could help to pin-point it.

I heard the sound when John_doe was over for me to change his shot O2 sensor. The sound started as he started his car. The sound was coming from under the car on the drivers side a little bit towards the back of the car. My Buick makes that sound when the compressor for the air shocks is going so I just assumed it was the same for the Bonneville. Later Oldsman told me that 1994 SE'* Don't have air shocks!

The sound was very similar to the air compressor working and it went on when he sarted his car and lasted like 5 to 10 seconds.

Does the noise continue as you take off???? If so, it might, not sure, might, keyword, might, be the signs of a tranny about to go ba-bye. dont take my word for it completely.

No. I stops in a few seconds. In all the times we started the car it only happened once. The car has about 85k miles and it is softly driven and it shifts well. T sound comes from a little more to the back behind the drivers seat. I kinda thought that it could be the fuel pump, but then again I am no expert so I would like other opinions.

I know of the sound your talking about. I am also in the process of trying to locate it. It somewhat seems as if it is coming from the heat shields on the exhaust manifold pipes. I notice it also when I give it a quick rev and it quits until it gets back down to idle. Does this sound familiar? If so I am betting it is the heat shields, but I am still trying to pinpoint it too.
