My 93 SSE runs better on higher octane fuel. Yeah, I could (and probably should) dig into it and make it run on 87 octane, but I'm lazy and pumping 91 is easy.
(Truth really is that TIME is a premium and as long as it runs well on 91 octane, I'll use that time whittling away at my wife's continuously growing "Stan's Project List"...yet another story.) And I don't like anyone else touching my car  , so having someone else poking around under the hood is a NO. |
on 87 octane CFoote saw plenty of knock ... he's NA.
Meanwhile my 95 at the time was running premo and had zero knockage... Fuel choice isn't always a bandaid for other issues. He's in the 113F desert They have their own "special" blend of fuel in AZ Bob's been under the hood You are right..it's probably that last reason...lol |
hah
But if it weren't for someone else looking under the hood, I wouldn't be able to eat an egg off the engine |
Are you eating off it or trying to drive it?
|
Hmmm...
My first reaction is to suspect the exhaust leak I thought I heard, but if it only happens with TCC applied it wouldn't be an exhaust leak.... I agree with trying to run some premium, or at least the 89 octane they sell around here. This makes me wonder how much KR I have in this heat... |
Should I see a difference right away?
|
If an increased octane requirement is present... yes, as long as you increased the octane enough. How many gallons of regular and premium do you have?
|
The longer i ran with 93 the better me car got.. the forst time i felt it bt affter about 3 or 4 more fill ups i felt even more... :)
|
it's about 25% 87 and 25% 91octane right now, i'm going to fill it up each day for a couple days to bring it up
