Ok I'm leaking again!. When we get a heavy rain water seems to enter through the passenger side headliner and rest in the maplights. Then the water leakes from maplights onto the buttons next to gear shift. There is also a lil water sittng on front passenger seat. I've been reviewing the leak posts and noone seems to have reported this exact problem but I'm thinking its a door seal but I'm not sure. :?

If it'* getting into the overhead like that, it'* usually a plugged sunroof drain allowing the water to build up in the gutter area under the glass, and overflowing into the headliner/switch assembly.

Even if a sunroof gasket/seal leaks, it should still drain properly. Pull your A-pillar trim, and verify that the drain tubes are connected. I'm betting they are, but the tubes or the downspouts themselves are probably plugged on one or both sides. Run some wire down through them to clear them out.

Actually I did that trick abt 8mnths ago but probally didn't do such a good job. I unraveled a metal hanger and started poking. What do you recommened I use and far should it go down b4 I get resistance?

The drains run all the way down the pillar to below the floor level of the car. Try compressed air as well.

Had the same problem.

The drain tubes terminate inside the fender and what you can't see unless you remove
the inside of the fender well skirt is there is sand and dirt built up in the well clogging the drain hole for water to run out.

You can blow air through the drain tubes which will remain clear for a short time till sand blocks it off again.

It is only a few screws to remove the inside fender skirt to clean out the well. You can also get to it through the door when open, you just have to move a piece of insulation. I actually now flush this area with a hose when washing the car to stop the buildup. I recommend you remove the fender skirt the first time because it was packed pretty hard the first time I discovered it and flushing with a hose was not enough. I had to vacumm most of the dirt out and then use a metal hanger to clear the drain hole.
