wobble..oh..oh
Driving my car to work today, noticed that the steering wheel was wobbling a bit while driving at low speed, front end? front wheels? you can actually see it........lent my car to the step son the day before?.....hmmmmm did he curb it? bend a wheel, throw a balance weight off? grrrrrr........any ideas? suggestions?.......

A steering wheel that wobbles could be a sign of your wheels not being alligned. Do this. On a highway thats straight and doesn't have too much of a curve to the road, take your hands off the wheel for a few seconds. (take caution in this...check to see if there are any cars around) If it pulls, you most likely need an allignment..At this time, check to see if you need a tire rotations/new tires as that requires an allignment itself.

I can tell you it'* probably not a wheel weight. You'd feel that at higher speeds, not lower. I can tell you what it feels like to throw one at 120 
but it wasn't noticeable below 40.

run it through an automatic car wash and see if it gets better. you might have slush and ice stuck in the suspension or wheels, throwing things out of balance. happens to me a lot.

If not alignment, then balance...or both. Get both done for good measure.

It sounds like he was turning a little to fast and might have messed up the tie-rod ends! If you didn't feel it before you lent it to him and the next day it'* broken ..........

The problem is so many of the problems mentioned can lead to others. So if you do not find your solution look into your tires. Yes even new tires can be bad. I bought 4 new tires and three were no good. I had to have all three replaced and one again. It took one honest and good mechanic at the tire store to find the problem the machine did not find the problem.

finally, one that i can somewhat answer. i am learning this in auto'* as we speak.
brminder is right. it'* got a bad alignment. sounds like toe-in as he said. this happend to my car after i was trying to do some donuts in a parking lot going too fast. an hour on the alignment machine and i was back to normal.
It'* probably the alignment, incorrect toe-in. Most likely not a big deal.

it is very rare that an alignment will cause a wobble or vibration. it would have to be sooo far out that you wouldnt be able to hold it on the road. most of the time, a low speed wobble is caused by a separated belt in a tire or a loose wheel. take the front tires off and look closely at them
take your hands around them and see it you feel or see a raised section of the tire. if you got the tires recently, you might be able to get an adjustment on it depending on the tread depth left on the tire. i hope this helped alot[/img][/quote]
