how to store injectors
What is the best way to store used fuel injectors? They are from an engine that has been replaced due to bad bearinggs: the injectors were fine. They currently are wet with gasoline (presumably) and still in the fuel rail. But, I would like to store them separately because I don't want the gasoline to dry out and gum up the tiny passages.
After I have removed them from the rail, should I soak them in injector cleaner, then blow them with compressed air and store them dry? I have a battery driven setup to provide 4.5v dc to trigger them outside the car if need be. Can they stand to be immersed in injector cleaner and stored that way? Or will the cleaner attack the non-metallic parts?
Any experience here would be appreciated.
Dr Jay, are you around?

I think they get 5 volts. I built a little tester that uses an LED and some resistors to test the signal that fires the injector, and as I recall, that was the voltage. Anyway, I know that 4.5 V will actuatue them. I am not suggesting anyone try this however, as it may harm the injector for all I know. I have only done it on injectors I suspected were malfunctioning.
