Default odd thing

Well I got off of work tonight and got in the car and started it and it was fine. i turn and start going down the street and gave it some gas, well when i come to the stop sign and i start to slow down and listen to the car it still sounds like im pressing on the gas pedal a little bit, when i come to a stop the rpms start to go up by it self and go down by it self the the voltage gage starts to decline and the lights dim and the car acts like it wants to die, but then all of a sudden the voltage goes back up and starts to act fine. once i acc. again and let off the gas the rpms stay up a little bit and and the car stays at the speed i was going and does not slow it wants to increase in speed a little. as well as acc some times i can fill the car kind of jerk foward a little bit. Has anyone ever had this happen to them befor or have an idea on what it might be?

A couple of guesses: idle air control, vacuum leak

A bad ECT can do the same thing. You should go after vacuum leaks first though.

Not addressing the idle speed increase here, but having seen the video, I would have to say the alternator does not appear to be acting normally. That is, when the volt reading is low, and the engine speed increases, the voltage does not increase as quickly as one might expect. First thing I would check at this point are the battery cables for corrosion at both ends, and the connections to the alternator to make sure everything is clean and tight. Corrosion often occurs under the insulation at the cable ends - the insulation needs to be peeled back to make sure that is not the problem. If those are all good, pull the alternator off and take it to a reputable shop for testing, and load test the battery to assess its condition.

Did you removed the boots from the battery cables, and clean the connections? Have you checked for vacuum leaks?
