Question Traction Control Issue/Question

I'm a little confused about the traction control on my 92 SSEi. The "traction control off" light goes on and off randomly and pressing the tc button next to the shifter doesn't seem to doing anything. When the "traction control off" light is off (meaning the tc is on, presumably) I tested it in the rain and i do get traction control if I gun it (and likewise when the "traction control off" light is on I don't get traction control). Should the tc button turn the tc on and off on command, or is it there for some other reason? (also note I have no issue with the perform shift button and functionality)

Hi Zec.. I moved your post to it'* own new thread because it was a partial piggy back and the thread you posted in was more about the struts. Having it'* own new post should get you better exposure.

The traction control is dependent on a TC unit under the hood and the wheel speed sensors working properly on all four wheels. Unfortunatley it is not easy to tell which is malfunctioning.

You can use an ohm meter at each WSS plug to each wheel and if one comes up with a large difference, likely that wheel hub needs to be replaced.

Ok. I guess I know now that the TC button or some part of the TC system probably isn't working properly. Fixing the Traction Control isn't my biggest priority right now, I just wanted to know a little about why the button didn't change anything.

I've been thinking about this some more...I do get traction control when the "TC off" light is off, and I do not get traction control when the "TC off" light is on...but the button which is supposed to turn TC on and off that'* next to the shifter does not do anything. I notice, as I've said before, that the light in the dash is on sometimes and off sometimes for no apparent reason...Is this a problem with the button???? Does it take a few seconds, or minutes for the TC to change status? It'* been frustrating me because there'* a button for it but NOTHING happens when I press it, but the TC system does work when its on.
