Default 94 with TPS AND TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS!!

hey eveyone!
I have a '94 bonneville sse with 153,000 miles, I just back from the dealship where they informed that I have a throttle body sensor that has gone bad and that is what is making my transmission mess up. I have had my transmission replaced @ 118,000 miles and it has a factory warranty, however they won't even attempt to look at it until I shell out the $155 dollars needed to replace the sensor, (NOTE this dealship tried to mess me over on some other things so I am aware of there tatics to fix things that are not wrong) Ok back the problem, my car will drive fine for about 20 min and the SES light will come then my transmisson start'* shifting really funny and when i let off the gas sometimes the car will die because the rpms drop out completely! So what my question is......How hard is it to change the Throttle Sensor? Will it be alright if i get the part from a Pull it yourself place? Oh By the way here are my Codes that are popping up : PO123, PO740, PO755...............................PLEASE HELP ME!!

I got my TPS for $48 at autozone. It looks like I need to take the throttle body off to get at it though. I'll post an update when I get it done later this week.

You can do it without removing the TB. I've done it on an L27. You need a small ratchet tool with a #1 phillips bit.

BrianT I'd definitely get a new sensor first. Even if you paid the $155 to have the dealership install it, it would be worth it if it solved the problems you're having. Good luck.

Do yourself a favor and get a new tps, not something from a parts yard. A good rule of thumb for any electronics on your car is to get it new so as to CYA, or you may be doing the job twice. Good luck.
